Award validates WorldMate Live as the industry’s leading mobile travel service
CTIA Wireless Conference, Las Vegas, NV (April 3, 2008) – WorldMate, Inc., the leading provider of mobile travel services for the road warrior and frequent flier, today announced that WorldMate Live has been selected as the winner of the 2008 Andrew Seybold Choice Award for Most Innovative Consumer Application. WorldMate Live is the only mobile service that actively manages a traveler’s complete itinerary and sends “push” alerts with important schedule changes and other time-sensitive information. With WorldMate Live, travelers can then take immediate control of their plans directly within the application’s user interface.
WorldMate Live includes a mobile client, Web site and Outlook add-in that track a member’s travel itinerary from start to finish. Members can easily create an itinerary by sending travel confirmations directly from any email service into the system, and WorldMate Live takes it from there, offering peace-of-mind and security throughout the trip. WorldMate Live uses the ‘freemium’ business model, with most services available for free and premium features offered at a low monthly rate.
“I would like to congratulate WorldMate for winning the 2008 Andrew Seybold Choice Award for Most Innovative Consumer Application,” said Andrew Seybold, president and CEO of Andrew Seybold, Inc. “We judged the products and services for their impact on the wireless market, how they embrace new, innovative technologies, their ease of use and how they simplify the user experience. This year we received an overwhelming number of entries, and the winners are to be commended for their dedication to the industry.”
“WorldMate is committed to creating easy-to-use, innovative products that take the headache out of the travel experience,” said Nadav Gur, CEO of WorldMate. “We’re thrilled to win this prestigious award, alongside industry heavyweights such as RIM, Qualcomm and T-Mobile USA. Andrew Seybold is one of the foremost authorities on mobile technology, and receiving this honor is an endorsement of our strong market position, a testament to the value of our technology and the dedication of our hard-working team.”
More than 150,000 business travelers have joined WorldMate Live since the service launched on Blackberry devices in September 2007. At CTIA this week, WorldMate announced the upcoming availability of WorldMate Live for Windows Mobile smartphones, a leading industry platform.
